I work with men, women, students, and couples. My master's focus was in mental health and trauma, my PhD internship focused on community mental health. I treat anxiety and stress, along with trauma disorders using EMDR. I can help clients with a wide range of issues. My approach to therapy is client centered. I treat the whole person, not just a symptom profile of the person. Results from my work include symptom reduction and clients feeling more confident and focused. Clients also report not feeling so burdened internally, thus freeing them to be more alive and present, thus increasing quality of life experience, I treat anxiety disorders related to relationship issues, separation anxiety, test taking anxiety, public speaking anxiety, phobias, and general anxiety and worry. I also treat PTSD, panic disorders, OCD, and social anxiety. I work from a perspective that is focused and strategic, combining priniciples of mindfulness, psychodynamic theory and EMDR. I have a medical background and three graduate degrees in counseling, mental health and psychology. I bring a wide range of experience to help my clients feel better. I am also trained in EMDR, an efective treatment for high stress, anxiety disorders and trauma.

I specialize in somatic therapy for those who have experienced trauma. Anxiety, dissociation, reactivity, chronic worry, addiction, and hypervigilance are all adaptive responses for the body after having experienced trauma (car accidents, loss, sexual assault, oppression, domestic violence, emotional abuse, developmental/attachment injuries, and many other historically ignored experiences). My approach is queer, trans, & non-monogamous affirming, sex-positive, and based on a harm reduction approach to addiction. Often those I work with have tried traditional talk therapy before but long-held patterns did not shift. Somatic therapy is a body-centered therapy that asks us to keep the body in mind while we are working with your current experiences. My training integrates EMDR, relational psychotherapy, and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. Together we will work to reduce your experiences of distress and increase your sense of safety and connection with yourself and others. We will do this through psychoeducation, talk therapy, and the choice to work with EMDR and somatic practices in session. I trust that if you could have thought your way out of this, you would have. Let’s try something new.

Healing happens when we feel safe enough to show up exactly as we are. All parts of you are welcome here. I’m not here to change you or fix you. I don’t think you are “broken” or that there's anything "wrong" with you. Together we'll create an accepting + compassionate environment, with respect for your intuition + body's wisdom underlying all that we do. I’m trauma + social justice-informed and view therapy through an intersectional lens (mind, body, environment, culture). During our time together, we’ll likely look at environmental factors (interpersonal, economic, oppression) that create individual/collective stress and trauma. I value equity, consent and boundaries in the therapeutic relationship and strive to create a space that is safe, non-judgmental and accepting. My approach is collaborative + holistic, centering around values of empathy, connection and deep listening. I’m Internal Family Systems-informed and incorporate somatic + mindfulness-based approaches into sessions. I provide an autism-affirming perspective in therapy and believe autism is a genetically-based neurotype, not a medical disorder. "I understand being autistic to be a cultural identity and recognize autistic people as experts on their own culture."
